“Wick” is one of England’s oldest suffixes, meaning a place of trade or a specialised dwelling. Chiswick was a cheese wick. Gatwick was a goat wick. Framewick is, simply, a framing wick. A place where a particular craft is practised with care, and where something made by hand finds its way to your home.
We started Framewick because getting something properly framed has always been more complicated than it should be. The trip to the shop, the wait, the moment you see the price and quietly wonder if you are paying for someone’s entire rent on the high street. We thought it could be simpler than that.
No trip. No measuring. No mild disappointment at the till. How framing ought to work
So we made it simpler. Your frame arrives at your door within 10 days, ready to hang, and it will cost you considerably less than the framer on the high street. Every one is cut, mounted and fitted by hand in our UK workshop, and checked by hand before it leaves.
We are living through the greatest era of photography in human history. More moments are captured now than ever before. The walk on the moor. The birthday that snuck up on you. The holiday where everything went right. Almost all of them stay on a phone, unseen, slowly scrolling out of reach.
Framewick is for the Sunday evening when you pour a glass of wine, open your camera roll, and finally decide that this one deserves a wall. We want that to feel like a pleasure, not a project.

Acid-free mountboard
White-core mountboard that stays white, cut with a bevelled edge.
2mm float glass
Fitted by our framers, with D-rings and cord already in place.

There is a photograph on my wall of a battered orange sign, taken by a dear friend who is no longer here. I walk past it every morning. Most mornings, it makes me smile.
